Got the Rooted Blonde Layers version and wanted to film it in ordinary indoor light, since almost every photo of this unit is taken outside. The root melt is subtle enough that it does not read as stripey, and the layers fall back into shape after I run my fingers through. I do have to loosen the part every couple of wears if I want it sitting a little softer, but that takes maybe ten seconds. The lace breathes properly; I wore it to a long dinner and never got hot and itchy the way I did with my old one. It is light enough that I forget it is there, and switching to a different part costs me a couple of minutes rather than a trip to a salon.

What sold me is that it is not one flat blonde — there is a paler layer sitting over a warmer one, so it moves the way my own colour did before it started thinning. Ordered the Golden Mixed Layers and it turned up quicker than I expected. I filmed it in daylight so you can see how the layers move. Honestly the 13 x 6 lace is not completely flat until you melt it down with a little gel, but once it is set it stays put through a whole day. The hair itself is so light I barely feel it and a quick shake is all it takes to bring the layers back, and the lace really is breathable, so I never felt overheated wearing it out. My only gripe is the ends needed a light trim to look natural straight out of the box.
